Just rented this beautiful NC for a day and I am absolutely sold. Whoever said that this is a boring bike has probably never ridden one. I was a little worried it wouldn’t have enough power, but put in in sport mode and it’ll blast fast enough. The DCT is absolutely amazing and smooth, and I’m gonna trade in my Vulcan S for an NC…. That is…. If my wife says it’s okay… of course….

I bought the steel frame version we sold here in Aus after Michael Dawson won the Hub 300 production race at Lakeside. Never got the anti-dive dialled in and the front was wicked and cruel with the 16" wheel (Bad shakes) coasting down in second, fine though under brakes. Kawasaki works rider Gregg Hansford (RIP) was doing a stint at City Yamaha and gave me a bunch of free helpful advice. Honestly, on wash day, I'd lift the tank (It had a steel cable to hold it up) and pull up the seat just to stare at the exhaust plumbing/heat blankets where the top expansion chambers were snaked together to get the installed length down. I was an unremarkable rider on a most remarkable bike.

America is all flat and straight roads? The Appalachian mountains, Rocky Mountains, Sierra Nevada Mountains. And many other ranges filled with elevation changes and stunning scenery. Rolling hills and valleys all over the place. Coastal roads where it's rare to find a straight stretch. Ok, the central plains might fit your description. American roads are however a rival to anything globally for all round motorcycle enjoyment and 2 wheeled "heaven".

My god you guys are D&MB as F%CK! Its a MUSCLE bike! Not a Super bike! Chevy Camaro,Dodge Challenger,Jeep Trackhawk. Those are MUSCLE cars! Muscle means big body,high torque. Soo if those muscle cars lost in a race against some super cars like Lamborghini Hurracan,Chevy Z06 and Mclaren 765LT,i guess we should all laugh and no longer refer to those cars as muscle. Exhaust not endurance enough... So many bits to fix if got into accident. Daily driver for work and munchies, Alright. 😂 EU has restriction for young license holder that usually limits to 10hp 125cc iirc. This bike has basically double. My country, upto 250cc no hp restriction. Learners license can use unlimited cc powerrr. 😅

No cruise control, belt drive , hopefully for the next upgrade

As I needed to get my first bike, initially I wanted to get myself a transalp, but I found it too bulky and intimidating. Finally my eyes went on this cb and I immediately got it and preferred it even over the new nx500. The aesthetics has no comparison, too beautiful. I love it and never regretted. I equipped it with central stand, hand guards, and crash bar. Looks amazing. And after watching this video I am more and more convinced I made the right choice.

My long lanky frame would probably need the Honda to be comfortable for max distance.

Im 65 and just back from a solo 4k mile round trip on Euro roads in 11 days, ok i had 6 days over 500 miles - all done on a R1250 GS. - nothing better in my opinion - you can keep these 3. 👍🏻

I actually thought you were about to slag it off lol. I've got a 2014 primavera. The 946 is a premium scooter, but lacks the storage of the primavera. Downside the primavera still has a rear drum brake.

Thanks for this. I had exactly this choice to make, coming from a BMW F800GT I'd narrowed it down to these two. I tested the 1250rs first thinking this would be the one for me, a bigger, smoother more powerful version of my current bike in effect. But the S1000XR blew me away within a few minutes of riding it and I went back and bought one they had in exactly the spec I wanted just delivered. Much more exciting in the twisties and the riding position was a lot more comfy on the motorway getting there. They chucked in panniers too, quite happy.

ehere's a reason to get a sport touring bike instead of an ADV bike, you're too short to get an ADV bike, seriously, modern tall rounder and ADV bike are basically touring bike, but more comfortable, if you wanna crunch mile, there is noi better cathegory

Adventure bike does not mean you have to ride off road. In fact, they are much more comfortable over distance than a sport tourer of a feet forward cruiser. I've owned bikes in all three categories. 1989 Suzuki R1100F Katana sport tourer, a 1995 R1100GS BMW and a 2016 Indian Scout. The GS won all around for big miles without feeling fatigued after two hours of riding.

How does it ride with the bags and trunk removed? I ride my R1200R sans bags unless on a trip. I would ride the same way with a K1600.
